Appointments

How to request an appointment

You can request an appointment during working hours in the following ways:

You may request an appointment in advance, normally up to two weeks. A large percentage of our appointments can be requested on the day for conditions that need to be seen where an in advance appointment is not appropriate.

Appointments are also offered for a telephone consultation with your doctor when a face to face consultation is not necessary. For example, reporting back on an ongoing condition where examination is not necessary, a Medication Query or Sick Note Request.

Where possible, we will book you an appointment with your Named GP at your registered site. If your problem is more urgent, this may not always be possible and you will be offered an appointment with one of the other GPs within the surgery.

The doctors will try their best to give enough time to each patient but if, for example, two members of one family try to be seen in a single appointment, other patients will be kept waiting. Please make an appointment for each person wishing to be seen.

There is usually only time to deal with one problem during a routine appointment. If you think that your problem may take longer, please inform us when requesting an appointment so that allowances can be made for this.

Extended hours and improved access

We offer additional evening appointments on a Tuesday at Hemsby and Thursday at Ormesby surgeries. These appointments must be requested in advance.

Our improved access service is available from 18:00-20:00 Monday to Friday and 07:45-16:00 on Saturday. All appointments take place at Roundwell Medical Centre, Dr Torrens Way, New Costessey, Norwich, NR5 0GB.
